Dynamic50, a specialist Ruby on Rails development company based in London are running weekend training courses in Ruby on Rails 3.

Ruby on Rails is a leading web development framework that is used for building bespoke database driven web applications and web sites. It is hugely popular and is used on sites such as Twitter, Amazon, and the BBC as well as a vast amount of start-ups due to its productvity, ease of use and testing frameworks.

The course is geared for absolute beginners or people who have dabbled a little in Ruby and Ruby on Rails.

A basic understanding or programming will help but is not mandatory.

The training course will cover Rails 3 (latest version) including the following topics:

• Environment Setup
• Version Control overview
• Ruby kick start
• Introduction to the language
• Rails MVC overview and anatomy of a rails application
• Creating a rails project
• Using the generators
• Introduction to specs and tests
• Introduction to REST and Restful controllers
• Introduction to plugins, engines, and gems
• Learning to use Active model and active record
• Creating Views, Layouts, and reusable snippets (partials)
• Deployment with Capistrano and Git

The course is geared to giving you the best start possible with Ruby on Rails and you should go away knowing enough to being able to start developing your own awesome web applications.

The course will be based in our offices in Croydon, London, UK. The offices are a 3 minute walk from the station which runs trains to victoria in 15 minutes, London Bridge in 15 minutes and Brighton in 35 minutes.

We are running two courses over a weekend. The first is 9th-10th April, the second is 23-24th April.
